Telecoms giant TalkTalk five-year 'transformational' outsourcing contract to CGI

TalkTalk, the UK telecommunications company, has awarded a five-year ‘transformational’ outsourcing contract to CGI.

The One IT Operations Outsourcing contract will see CGI strengthen and transform TalkTalk’s operational services over the next five years.

Headquartered in London, TalkTalk said that the One IT Operations contract “forms part of a business-wide transformation programme for better customer experience and operational excellence.”

Having developed its IT estate organically over the past decade, TalkTalk is looking to improve operational efficiency and drive further growth by consolidating its IT systems and processes, whilst also evolving its approach from reactive to proactive and preventative.

CGI, which is the fifth largest independent end to end IT and business consulting services firm in the world, will modernise the operation of TalkTalk’s IT estate with a suite of monitoring and CGI’s proprietary automation tools.

This will “drive efficiency and reliability, generating a stable platform for future operations.”

As part of this work, CGI will manage the migration of TalkTalk’s apps into the private cloud, providing stability, capacity and improved capabilities for validating future releases.
