Sheffield architects announce completion of two leisure projects worth £8m
White Design, the Sheffield-based architect practice, has announced the completion of two leisure developments worth nearly £8m.
The practice has been working with Wildgoose Construction as part of the design and build team for Marston’s Inns and Taverns since 2010.
This month saw the completion of the £3m Station Pilot pub restaurant in Crewe, which can cater for up to 150 diners and has created 45 new jobs.
White Design has so far completed 34 new build projects for the pub operator and independent brewer, including three Marston’s Lodges. A further five new developments are due to start on site in the first half of the year.
The practice has also just completed its architectural and lead designer role for a new 79-bed Premier Inn with Thyme Restaurant, which has opened in the Cumbrian market town of Ulverston.
The White Design team delivered an ‘innovative’ design for the £5m project on a challenging site with the development opening on time and to budget.
Kevin Unwin, White Design owner, said: “We have ambitious growth plans and 2018 has got off to an excellent start.
“We are fortunate to work with some excellent clients. Over the last eight years we have completed over 30 projects for Marston’s Inns and Taverns across the Midlands, North West and North Wales as architect on one of three national design and build teams.
“It is hugely rewarding to work across the country for clients such as Marston’s and Whitbread’s delivering high quality hotels and pubs which are creating jobs and making great memories for so many people.”
