Glittering evening as NFS joins top chefs in celebrating the UK restaurant industry

Some of the greatest talents in the UK restaurant industry gathered at The Savoy in London last week for a gala celebration – and NFS were delighted to be a major sponsor. Top chefs including Raymond Blanc and James Martin joined restaurateurs from across the country at the Restaurant Association’s 50th Birthday Dinner.

NFS Technology Group, a leading provider of software to restaurants, bars and hotels across the UK, was a Gold Sponsor of the dazzling occasion.

CEO Luis De Souza says the UK restaurant industry is a dynamic and developing sector that is facing up to current challenges with aplomb.

“These are tricky times for restaurants thanks to rising costs and the effects of Brexit, but over the last three years we have seen many new concepts and restaurant openings in the UK,” he said.

“We believe the most forward-thinking establishments are the ones that will continue to thrive – we’ve seen successful operators adopt strategies to contain costs, build closer engagement with their clients and take on board smart technology solutions to deliver a great guest experience.”

As an international technology company serving the hospitality market, NFS have a range of solutions for restaurants, meeting venues, bars and hotels and we serve over 1,000 UK hospitality businesses.

“Increasingly we are delivering cloud based solutions to our customers to provide rapid and efficient deployment, lower start up costs and also create a scalable solution,” said Luis.

NFS customers include Argentinian steak house chain Gaucho/CAU, pub company Brew Dog, Giraffe Restaurants, Honest Burgers and London-based Indian casual dining specialists Dishoom.

At the 50th celebration dinner, special guests invited by NFS joined other influential figures in the restaurant industry to celebrate everything that makes UK restaurants great. NFS guest and long-standing NFS client Kevin Bacon said: “The excellence and innovation of the UK restaurant industry was demonstrated by the great food and wine combinations we experienced.”

The event also raised money for the charity Action Against Hunger, which helps malnourished children around the world.

Luis said: “It was marvellous to be a part of this occasion, and to talk with so many celebrated and talented restaurateurs. Here’s to the Restaurant Association – and the next 50 years of success!”
