Stockport based gates business signs deal with French manufacturer
A Stockport-based business which specialises in gates and perimeter protection for residential and commercial markets has secured a deal with a leading European manufacturer of specialist aluminium gates for the consumer market.
The deal sees Country Gates and Barriers appointed as the exclusive UK and Republic of Ireland distributor for the premium French gates brand, Horizal. The new brand will operate alongside Country Gates’ existing business operation.
Country Gates & Barriers, now in its eighth year of trading, says the introduction of Horizal products to their current product offering will help them to further accelerate the company’s growth.
The company has already invested £100,000 in a showroom at its Bredbury base to showcase the new Horizal range.
As part of the new European deal, Country Gates and Barriers will be establishing a network of up to 100 approved aluminium gate installers. Known as Portaliers; these are installation experts who are trained, approved and regulated by Horizal in the UK.
The company has itself become Horizal’s first approved installer in the UK, covering the North West region.
Established in 1969, Horizal is a leading manufacturer of aluminium gates and railings in Europe. They are currently expanding their business interests across multiple international territories and see the UK and Ireland as a key market.
Speaking about the new deal, managing director of Country Gates and Barriers, Nick Corbett said: “With all the talk of Brexit and the negative impact it could have on our trading relationship with Europe I am delighted to fly the flag for Anglo-French relations.
“The UK is an important market for Horizal as they look to expand their reach. As the saying goes, an Englishman’s home is his castle. We are a nation of proud homeowners, we like gates in this country and Horizal are keen to capitalise on that.
“We are in the early days of rolling out the Horizal installer network but we have already received a lot of interest in the product.”
