Wallasey-based insurance industry services provider takes on 18 engineers

Insurance industry services provider Auger has created a raft of jobs.

The Wallasey-based company recruited 18 engineers to bring its UK-wide engineering headcount to 80.

In the last 12 months, Auger has taken on over 30 new employees for roles including engineers, assistant engineers and account managers.

The company launched the Auger Academy earlier this year to formalise the training process, which sees assistant engineers partner with two senior staff members and take industry-specific courses in topics like health and safety, confined space and patch lining.

Internal staff are also able to take courses in areas such as management.

Auger’s head of recruitment and staff development, Nicola Lyon, said: “We have had a very successful start to the year by appointing more than 18 new engineers to the Auger family.

“Earlier this year we formalised our training by introducing the Auger Academy to improve the skills of our direct workforce.”

She continued: “We believe this has had a huge impact on the number of successful candidates being appointed.

“Employing a direct workforce on the ground means that we can deliver a service that is unrivalled for our insurer clients and the customer.”

Auger said it expects to grow its team further in the coming months.
