Caddick Construction notches up a gear with Mercedes Benz
Caddick Construction has started work on a £5.9 million contract to create a new Mercedes-Benz showroom and workshop situated in Kingmoor Park in Carlisle.
The programme of works will see the construction of a new showroom and workshop incorporating a drive-through facility, cosmetic repair and wet and dry valet with associated hard standing/car parking areas.
Caddick Construction was awarded the contract by Sytner in December last year and the team is scheduled to be on site for 43 weeks. The project will see the eventual creation of over 50 jobs.
The showroom, which was previously situated on Rosehill, was relocated by Sytner in part due to the government-backed incentives available at the city’s new enterprise zone.
Andrew Murray, Managing Director at Caddick Construction, commented: “It’s great to add another contract to our ever-growing automotive portfolio and we’re very pleased to work with Sytner Mercedes-Benz for the first time. The new showroom will be visually impressive in its prominent position in Kingmoor Park as well as meeting the expectations of customers.”
John Buchan, Group Project Director at Sytner Group, said: ““We are delighted to be a building a new state-of-the-art Mercedes Benz facility in the area. This building will be the first in the UK to reflect the brand’s new Corporate Identity and we anticipate being open for business by the end of this year.”
