Work starts on West Didsbury technology park scheme

Work has started on a science and technology development in South Manchester.

Property firm Bruntwood, tech giant Siemens, developer PJ Livesey and Manchester City Council have formed a partnership to deliver the scheme on the Siemens Campus at West Didsbury.

Didsbury Technology Park, located off off Princess Parkway, will comprise 20,000 sq ft of Grade A office space along with 92 new homes in its first phase.

It will sit alongside the existing Sir William Siemens House and Spire Manchester Hospital.

Overall, the development will provide more than 155,000 sq ft of new, purpose-built commercial workspace across three buildings, to be delivered in three phases.

The residential element of the scheme will provide 48 four- and five-bedroom homes and 44 apartments.

The project also includes a multi-storey car park and landscaped environment.

Phase one of Didsbury Technology Park is due for completion in Q1 2019. The whole site is forecast to be fully developed and occupied by 2020.

Bruntwood COO Richard Burgess said: “We are delighted to be working alongside Manchester City Council, Siemens and PJ Livesey to bring this exciting project to fruition.

“Didsbury Technology Park will be one of the best-connected sites in the city, benefitting from its excellent location, close to both the Oxford Road Corridor innovation district and the airport.”

Cushman & Wakefield and JLL are agents on the scheme. PJ Livesey was advised on the residential agreement by law firm Slater Heelis.
