Carringtons Catering 'kicks off' partnership with Everton in the Community

Carringtons Catering has officially announced its chosen charity for 2018 in the form of Everton in the Community (EitC).

The affiliation will see the catering firm support the Club’s charitable arm, which will be ‘kicking off’ with team members participating in the sponsored ‘Goodison Zip Slide’ at the football stadium this weekend.

Throughout the partnership, which aligns with EitC’s 30th birthday celebrations, Carringtons Catering will continue to raise vital funds to support the charity and the life-changing work it does across Merseyside and beyond.

Director of Carringtons Catering and Master Chef of Great Britain Darren Wynn said: “At Carringtons Catering, we select a local charity each year that aligns with our company ethos and this year, Everton in the Community was the perfect choice – not least because I am an avid and lifelong ‘blue’ myself!

“The impact that the charity has across Merseyside and further afield is immense, and it’s great to play an integral part in its fundraising activity and coinciding 30th birthday celebrations. The team and I are particularly looking forward to participating in the upcoming ‘Goodison Zip Slide’, having already raised considerable sponsorship funds.”

With the partnership underway, the catering firm has recently served up a delicious menu at EitC’s Gala Dinner at the acclaimed St George’s Hall. Carringtons Catering will also liaise with its expansive client base to offer an ‘opt-in’ mechanism to donate directly to EITC, whilst spreading the word at its consortium of events across the city.

Executive Director of Everton in the Community, Phil Duffy, added; “We are thrilled to be named as Charity of the Year for Carringtons Catering and we are looking forward to forging a strong relationship going forward.

“We are extremely proud of the work we do within the community and it’s a great year to be involved with EITC, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary and being granted ‘Freedom of the City’. We very much look forward to working with the wonderful team of people they have.”
