PizzaExpress to improve customer experience with new bill-paying app
Restaurant chain PizzaExpress has launched a new app to speed up the bill-paying process for customers.
The company’s new digital offering, created with tech firm Flyt, enables diners to pay using their smartphones instead of having to wait for the bill.
The launch follows a survey which highlighted that waiting for the bill is the most frustrating part of eating out, according to a majority (69%) of respondents.
Flyt, originally trading as Flypay, is the software company behind a pay-at-table platform used by operators across the UK hospitality industry
In addition to Flyt’s technology, the PizzaExpress app includes an integrated voucher service from mobile promotions firm Eagle Eye.
Timothy Love, senior marketing manager at PizzaExpress, said: “We are always looking at ways we can improve our customers’ experiences and our new app will do just that.
“The ‘pay at table’ function by Flyt is perfect for those who would rather spend time eating our delicious pizza than sorting out the bill.”
He continued: “By listening to our customers, we’ve understood what’s important to them and are introducing a more personalised service, including bespoke rewards. We don’t call it PizzaExpress for nothing.”
Flyt CEO Tom Weaver commented: “We’re delighted to welcome PizzaExpress to the Flyt platform.
“They join other fantastic household names taking advantage of easy to integrate digital services. The addition of PizzaExpress to the Flyt platform brings the total number of UK sites able to offer these digital services to their customers to more than 2,300.”
