ASOS ranks top in list of UK’s most visited fashion ecommerce sites
Online fashion giant ASOS was the UK’s most visited apparel ecommerce platform between August 2017 and February 2018, according to new data.
London-headquartered ASOS managed to beat a number of high street retailers in the ranking, according to figures from marketing intelligence firm SEMrush, but the gap between first, second and third places narrowed.
Traffic volume for John Lewis (second) grew 39% over the six months, while Marks & Spencer (third) recorded an 8% uptick.
By comparison, ASOS saw traffic rise 2.9% during the period.
According to SEMrush, the figures are indicative of a ‘raging ecommerce battleground’ in which department stores go head-to-head with fashion retailers to attract visitor traffic and boost online sales.
Next ranked in fourth place with a 7.7% decrease in traffic, followed by Debenhams in fifth with a 25% uplift and Sports Direct sixth with an 8.3% decrease.
The last slots were held by H&M (seventh), Zara (eighth), New Look (ninth) and Urban Outfitters (tenth).
Zara saw the most significant growth, with traffic up 42.6%.
