Manchester’s Airline Services acquired by Heathrow headquartered firm
North West firm Airline Services Limited has been acquired by an airport services provider headquartered at London’s Heathrow.
The Manchester-based company will now operate as part of Menzies Aviation, a subsidiary of Scottish group John Menzies plc.
Airline has a turnover of £34.9m and provides de-icing and aircraft presentation services to more than 60 airlines across 12 UK airports, along with ground-handling operations at Gatwick.
For Menzies Aviation, the deal has expanded its reach to four new UK airport locations – Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham and Exeter.
Forsyth Black, managing director of Menzies Aviation, said: “I am delighted to announce the acquisition of Airline Services.
“This is a significant addition to our UK business and is line with our strategy to offer the deepest portfolio of products to our airline customers.”
He continued: “The deal strengthens our market position in the UK, extends our product offering and takes us into new airports where we can now offer the full suite of Menzies services and continue to grow our business.”
