FinTech North announce Galibier as PR partner

Manchester-based PR agency Galibier has announced that it will partner with FinTech North to co-promote its series of events across the Northern Powerhouse.

The agency, which provides strategic PR support for some of the world’s biggest organisations in both technology and finance, has a long-standing partnership with co-founder of FinTech North, Whitecap Consulting. Galibier and Whitecap already work in collaboration for major clients such as Unisys and Sutherland Global.

FinTech North was established in 2016 by Whitecap and White Label Crowdfunding, a Leeds-based FinTech, to reinforce the UK’s Northern Powerhouse region as a centre of excellence for the sector. Now in its third year the series of events has attracted sponsors, speakers and visitors including entrepreneurs and academics, high street and investment banks, overseas investors, industry regulators such as the Financial Conduct Authority, and influential bodies including the Confederation of British Industry.

Galibier will be managing the media office at three Fintech North events in 2018: 26 April (Leeds), 22 May (Manchester) and 12 June (Liverpool).

Oliver Chesher, founder and managing director of Galibier, says: “We have supported FinTech North since day one, having attended its inaugural event in Leeds. We saw the tremendous potential of bringing together a room full of innovators and investors in a region that rightfully deserves its status as an international destination for this rapidly growing area of business.”

Dan Rajkumar, director of FinTech North, adds: “Galibier is the natural fit to handle the PR for a series of events such as this. The team are highly experienced and well connected among finance, tech, media and government, yet having itself grown from a self-funded start-up, the agency understands the hurdles that emerging challengers face and the stories they have to tell.”

Sponsors for the events include: aql, BJSS, Canadian High Commission, Computershare, Curo Transatlantic, DAC Beachcroft, Department for International Trade, Equiniti Credit Services, Fiserv, Innovate Finance, Invest Liverpool, Leeds Beckett University, Leeds City Council, LEP, NorthInvest, Vocalink, White Label Crowdfunding, Whitecap Consulting and Womble Bond Dickinson.
