Jet2 expands at Leeds Bradford with new service and extra Boeing aircraft for Summer 19
Travel company Jet2 is ramping up its Leeds Bradford operations with the launch of its biggest ever summer programme at the airport.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are expanding their services for Summer 19 with the addition of 100,000 seats, bringing their capacity for the period to 1.8 million.
The uptick, a year-on-year increase in capacity of 6%, will be facilitated with an extra Boeing 737-800 aircraft at Leeds Bradford Airport. The new plane will bring the firm’s fleet size at the airport to 16 aircraft.
The leisure airline and package holiday company will fly to 49 sun and city destinations in Summer 19, including a new service to Krakow.
Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey and Greece are forecast to be among the most popular destinations.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy said: “We are putting our biggest ever summer programme on sale from Leeds Bradford Airport, with 1.8 million seats going on sale for Summer 19 and a new summer route to Krakow.
“The addition of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft represents another huge investment in our base here, and gives local holidaymakers even more choice and flexibility with our award winning airline and tour operator.”
David Laws, chief exec of Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “We are delighted to see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays announce their biggest ever programme from Leeds Bradford Airport.
“The addition of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft is a clear indication of their commitment to this airport and the Yorkshire region, as our largest airline continues to go from strength to strength.”
