JB Skills Names Gliderol and Eve as Monthly Winners

JB Skills Training has named its second employer and apprentice of the month and this time, the apprentice works right within the training company itself!

Nineteen-year-old Eve Welburn works in the operations department for JB Skills Training and she is studying for her level Three Business Administration. Although she has only been part of the team for a few months, she has made an impact very quickly. Her line manager, operations manager Karin Dowson, said:

“Eve puts in practice on a daily basis what she is learning, she is always ahead of her targets and she will be finished before her target dates. It seemed unfair to not nominate her on the grounds that she works for us as she is very deserving.

“She is a joy to have around, even though she can be a typical teenager. She is a great support to both myself and the assessors.”

Eve, who is from Sunderland, said:

“I love my job and the training. JB Skills is an amazing place to work and I am enjoying becoming part of the team. I am really surprised to win as I thought the competition was for external candidates only.”

Employer of the month has been named as Gliderol Garage Doors. Based in Peterlee, Gliderol is the UK’s market leading steel roller garage door manufacturer. The company has been operating for more than 30 years and has a strong commitment to apprentices and apprenticeships.

Roy Sinclair, Managing Director of the business, said:

“Training our team is very important to us and the delivery must be of a high quality. We are delighted so far with the performance of the JB Skills team training our manufacturing apprentice and accept the monthly employer title with thanks!”
