Plumlife Homes launches affordable housing development in Lancaster

Award-winning affordable homes provider Plumlife has launched Riverside View in Lancaster, a brand new development of 16 homes for Shared Ownership.

Riverside View has both two and three bedroom homes available on the government-backed scheme which helps with an affordable way to buy a new home. Shared Ownership means the buyer purchases a share of the new home (usually between 35 and 75 per cent) and pays a small rent on the remaining part until they can take further shares to own the home outright.

Edyta Cummings, Sales Manager at Plumlife, said: “Recent reports have highlighted the shortage of affordable housing and that it can take up to eight years for the average first time buyer to save a deposit. We see the demand for affordable home ownership every day and Shared Ownership, such as that at Riverside View, is ideal for a range of people – from first-time buyers to second steppers with families looking to get into a bigger home. People only need a low deposit at five per cent of the share purchased and Shared Ownership has many benefits, putting home ownership within reach for some who might not be able to afford it otherwise.

Riverside View has everything on its doorstep – from shopping centres, to transport links to schools including Willow Lane Community Primary, Lancaster Girls’ Grammar and Lancaster Dallas Road Primary School. It also has green spaces such as Ryelands Park and Faireld Nature Reserve just a short distance away.

Ideally situated for commuters, Riverside View is just off junction 34 of the M6 and close to the A683 which provides links to Morecambe, Hornby and Cantseld. Lancaster train station is also only one mile away.
