Builder's grand donation for Anna's Hope Ball
Organisers planning a charity’s landmark fundraising ball have been given £1,000 towards the costs of making it a night to remember. Persimmon Homes East Midlands has handed £1,000 from its Community Champions fund to the team at Anna’s Hope as they plan their 10th annual ball. Anna’s Hope was founded by Carole and Rob Hughes, in memory of their daughter Anna, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour and passed away aged just three. Carole, of Pilsgate, Stamford, said: “For the last decade, through Anna’s Hope, we have devoted our efforts to creating more support for children and their families affected by brain tumours; whether it is helping to fund specialist nurses, or a dedicated rehabilitation service and we are always grateful for donations. “This will be our 10th annual ball and we really appreciate the sponsorship for entertainment and decorations we have received from Persimmon Homes East Midlands. All the funds we raise go towards helping children in the region diagnosed with a brain tumour reach their full potential.” Nova Eames, head of sales for Persimmon Homes East Midlands, based in Peterborough, said: “As a company we are committed to supporting the groups and charities that make a real difference to the lives of local people in the areas in which we build. “We were all truly inspired by Anna’s Hope and were delighted to be able to make the donation to a strong local cause, and we wish them every success on the night to raise even more money.” Nova added: “Our Community Champions fund has two pots of up to £1,000 each to award to worthy causes every month and it’s great to see so many charities and community groups benefiting. “Persimmon Homes East Midlands has had a fantastic response to its Community Champions scheme and it is always a tricky task to pick our winners each month. “If applicants were unsuccessful last month, we urge them to visit the Persimmon Homes website and to try again and hopefully they will become our next Community Champion. There is no limit to the number of applications that can be made.” Organisations can apply for funding by completing a simple online form at www.persimmonhomes.com/charity
