Start People introduce new Business Manager

Manchester and Durham based recruitment business Start People Ltd have kick-started their fourth year with an emphasis on growth in terms of size, sales volume and number of markets. Since its opening in 2015, the firm have specialised in three diverse and progressive sectors – Automotive, Engineering and FMCG, all of which have pushed the business forward in terms of growth and revenue.

With these three sectors combined becoming a driving force behind the businesses success, Start People ended 2017 with a turnover figure of £7M delivering a profit of over £300,000. As the team enter their fourth year of trading a key aspect of team growth and replenishment has been the introduction of new Business Manager Mike Rogers who will be running the Industrial desk at the Manchester Head Office.

Alongside supporting experienced Recruitment Consultants in this division to expand the client base, Mike will be developing the capability in relation to training apprentice and graduate Recruitment Consultants. The new Business Manager will be focusing on SME and high volume temporary industrial labour solutions - initially based in the North West but eventually progressing throughout the rest of the UK. This is something the business have always worked towards but have in the past lacked the knowledge and expertise of a specialist to drive the temporary labour desk forward – Start People expect the introduction of Mike and this team will have a large part to play in their target for £10M turnover by the end of 2018.

In conjunction with the firm’s 2017 success, the Board of Directors believed this year was the time to push the Start People brand forward. Applications for awards ceremonies began at the start of the year and already the firm are delighted to announce they have been shortlisted at two major events. First The Business Desk North West Business Masters Awards where they have been shortlisted for the Best Newcomer Award and will attend Ceremony at the Midland Hotel Thursday 19th April. An additional nomination arrived this week for the National Best New Business Awards where the team have been shortlisted for ‘Service Industry of the Year’ award alongside 13 prestigious businesses. More applications are in progress and the firm hope to see many more nominations come throughout the rest of the year.

With such success, Start People aim to achieve continued growth into 2018 creating more jobs in both their Manchester and Durham locations. The role of the Recruitment Consultant is fast-paced, demanding and diverse - no two days are ever the same. Thorough training in all aspects of the recruitment sector, processes and skills to succeed is part of the induction at Start People that has enabled the business to grow substantially and quickly over the past 24 months and the team are thrilled to have Mike at such an exciting time.
