Chocolate pop-up to raise money for charity

Skipton-based chocolate manufacturer, Whitakers Chocolates, is opening a pop-up outlet to raise money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

On Friday 20 April, Whitakers Chocolates and Stray FM will be at Craven Court Shopping Centre, off High Street in Skipton, from 10am until 3pm selling one-kilogram tubs of flavoured crème mis-shapes with all proceeds split between the two charities.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity that relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help save lives across the region and Manorlands is a Sue Ryder hospice in Oxenhope which provides palliative care and complementary therapy services to support people with life-limiting conditions.

Managing director at Whitakers Chocolates, William Whitaker, said: “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to raise money for two brilliant local organisations. There’s no better reason to take Whitakers Chocolates back to Skipton high street for the day, than to raise some much-needed funds for charity and show our support for the great work that both the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Manorlands hospice do.”

Nick Hancock and Will Smith from Stray FM will be supporting the fifth-generation chocolate company by broadcasting live from the centre. The pop-up outlet will be selling tubs of mis-shapes priced at £3 each or two for £5.

William added: “A huge thank you to Craven Court Shopping Centre for allowing us to set up our outlet and to Stray FM for joining us and providing entertainment for visitors. I hope the community will come out to support us and treat themselves to a tub, or two, of flavoured crèmes – it’s all for two great causes!”

Whitakers Chocolates is the UK’s largest distributor of personalised chocolates, producing 10 million chocolates each week for the hotel, restaurant, catering and retail sectors and recently diversified into the bespoke gift market with an innovative range of full-colour digitally printed personal chocolate bars and boxes.
