Permobil Partner with Innova to Expand Reach into Case Management

Permobil – the largest power wheelchair manufacturer in the world – has partnered with Wetherby’s Innova Care Concepts to expand its reach in the case management and litigation market in the UK.

Having announced their expansion into case management earlier this year, Innova has quickly become trusted and key suppliers to individuals all over the country. The company originally focused on home adaptations and fit-outs but have begun supplying more specialist items – like the Permobil range.

Permobil initially contacted Innova with the proposition of taking on their product range. Innova now carries out client assessments and sales of their powered wheelchairs, offering people who have had life-changing injuries the chance to maintain independence and mobility with high-quality equipment.

Tristan Hulbert, one of Innova’s Litigation Projects Advisors, said:

“Whilst the vast majority of our product range is manufactured by ourselves or manufactured under license, in this instance, we have decided to take on Permobil’s range as it is so flexible and clearly some of the best electric wheelchairs on the market.

“It’s certainly an exciting time for us and we’re already seeing good growth in the litigation sector.”

The deal will entail Innova specialists and engineers undergoing training with Permobil to ensure that they know everything they need to know about their products; from how to specify a custom model for a client, to any servicing and maintenance work that is required. A representative from Permobil will also be flying over from Norway to speak at Innova’s Litigation Project Conference next month.

Designing and supplying electric wheelchairs for adults and children, Permobil’s range is incredibly flexible to suit a wide variety of client needs. The company was first established in Sweden over 50 years ago and has since grown to be one of the most highly-regarded powerchair suppliers in the world. One of its most famous clients was the late Dr Stephen Hawking.

Gordon Cunningham, Permobil UK’s General Manager, said:

“Permobil and Innova are a great fit – we are both providing customers with high-end technology and great quality. What’s equally important to us both is making sure our customers have first class service end-to-end.

“Our new arrangement has started at a great pace with orders already in and more on the way. Business partnerships like this are of huge benefit not just to Permobil as a business, but also to our customers. I have every confidence that this will be a business relationship that brings Permobil and Innova significant growth in our focus markets.”
