RHCV drives expansion by acquiring Northants dealership

Exciting times are ahead for the award-winning East Midlands-based Renault Trucks Dealer, RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV) – with the acquisition of another operation in Northampton.

With a head office in Nottingham and an additional two sites in Cossington, Leicester and Alfreton, Derby, RHCV has purchased Renault Trucks Commercials on Weedon Rd, Kislingbury (close to the Junction 16 of the M1) for an undisclosed sum, as part of its strategic expansion.

All of the current team in Kislingbury are being retained and will be boosted with three additional new members of staff this year. RHCV plans to invest in the business and bring its award-winning values and quality service to new and existing customers in Northampton.

Established 40 years ago, the acquisition follows a successful 12 months for RHCV which was named as Renault Trucks Dealer of the Year in February this year, beating 60 other Renault Trucks dealers across the UK and Ireland and in 2017, RHCV was also named as one of East Midlands’ fastest growing companies in the Grant Thornton Top 200.

RHCV has a successful track-record of selling, leasing, servicing and repairing heavy (HGV) and light commercial (LCV) vehicles across the East Midlands and employs over 90 staff.

Nigel Baxter, Managing Director at RHCV comments: “We have been working with Renault Trucks to secure further expansion of our operation within the Renault Trucks network reinforcing our long and successful partnership, as such, this acquisition is a perfect fit for RHCV. Alongside a great existing team, this site offers excellent facilities and accessibility further and complements our existing strategically placed dealerships along the busy M1 corridor.

“This acquisition forms an integral part of the on-going development of our business providing first class sales, parts, service and repair facilities to our existing and expanding customer base. This purchase means we are now in a stronger position to grow our market share across the region.”

With a turnover in 2017 of almost £30m, RHCV has gone from strength to strength through the successful delivery of a very clear sales strategy and a determined management team. The approach has provided a steady increase in new and used truck sales, workshop and parts delivery alongside a strong and flexible contract hire and truck and van rental offer working closely, listening to and responding to customer needs.

Commenting on the acquisition, Managing Director of Volvo Group Trucks UK & Ireland, Arne Knaben said: “The growing success of the Renault Trucks brand in the UK market is down to the strength and consistency of the dealer network, with RHCV, our Dealer of the Year, embodying the professionalism, hard work and exceptional customer focus that makes the difference. I wish Nigel Baxter and his team every success in extending RHCV’s exceptional quality of service to the operators of the Northampton region.”
