Industry specialist completes acquisition of York recruitment business
Charterhouse Recruitment Services, the Yorkshire-based recruitment business, has been acquired by industry specialist Emma Ceballos.
With its head office in York, the company also serves clients across the county, most notably in Hull, Leeds and Sheffield.
As a result of this acquisition, Emma also wants Charterhouse to establish a new office in the North West in the coming months.
Emma has acquired the business from its former owner, Donna Green who had owned the 20-year-old business for the past five years.
Emma was one of the founding shareholders of gap personnel, which has grown into one of the UK’s largest training and blue collar workforce providers with a nationwide network of 39 offices.
Having sold her share in the business in 2013, Emma has provided consultancy services to a number of recruitment companies, including gap, before making her first business acquisition.
Charterhouse operates in the six key business markets; accounting and finance, office support, human resources, marketing, procurement and supply chain and medical devices and healthcare.
Employing 10 people from its base in Low Petergate in the centre of York, the business aims to increase its headcount with plans to recruit additional staff in the near future.
In addition, Gemma Carney has been promoted to the position of branch manager.
Emma Ceballos, owner and director of Charterhouse Recruitment Services, said: “Charterhouse has a really good reputation in York and the surrounding area and I am aiming to build upon its track record to develop the business further.
“I have inherited a talented and experienced team that I am keen to add to so we can bolster our services to Yorkshire clients.
“There is real growth potential in this business, both in terms of the markets we serve, but also geographically. Replicating the quality of service we offer and expertise in the business sectors we support in new regions is the natural next step for the business and the North West is our first target location.”
