Ministry of Justice set to relocate Leeds headquarters to 5 Wellington Place
The Ministry of Justice is set to make Wellington Place the site of its new Leeds headquarters.
Occupying over 26,500 sq ft of the first and second floors of 5 Wellington Place, the office space will welcome a further 200 employees to the Leeds city centre development.
MEPC, the developer and asset manager, announced the move means that Number 5 is now fully let.
The Ministry of Justice is set to join a variety of businesses at the development, including Equifax, Sky Betting & Gaming, Willis Towers Watson, Ward Hadaway and Shulmans LLP.
Andy Mills, director of estates at the Ministry of Justice, said: “I’m delighted that 5 Wellington Place will be home to our Leeds headquarters.
“The development offers modern, open and collaborative working environments in a great location close to Leeds station. The contract we’ve signed with MEPC will help us improve the quality and reduce the cost of our HQ estate.”
James Dipple, chief executive of MEPC, added: “We’re thrilled to be able to announce that the Ministry of Justice will be joining our ever-growing community here at Wellington Place and even more so that Number 5 is now fully occupied.
“This is a major milestone for the development and really does demonstrate the success of the scheme.
“The Ministry of Justice are a great addition to our portfolio of customers and their move demonstrates the value that businesses, both commercial and public, see in our sustainable office space and wider commitments to being more than just a place to work.
“We’d like to wish the Ministry of Justice every success in its new office space, and we look forward to welcoming many more new businesses to the community at Wellington Place, as the development continues to expand.”
The letting agents supporting the deal were JLL and Cushman Wakefield.
