National flooring retailer sponsors junior football team

A talented team of footballers in Leicestershire have now got a smart new kit to match their sharp skills.

Croft Juniors Blues Under-Sevens, who play their home matches at Winston Avenue Sports Ground in the village of Croft, have just taken delivery of their new strip – sponsored by Hinckley-based national retailer UK Flooring Direct.

The company was introduced to the club by Croft coach Lee Corden, a director of PR firm Advent Communications – which recently began raising the profile of UK Flooring Direct in the region.

The eight-player squad will be wearing the smart Nike kit for the remainder of the current season and will kick-off their under-eight campaign in the all blue strip next September.

The team plays its matches in the Leicester & District Mutual League and is also taking part in a range of tournaments and festivals this summer – including an invite to Derby County’s Training Ground in June.

Jason Ashby, the CEO of UK Flooring Direct – which sells a range of flooring via its website and onsite showroom, said: “We are delighted to see our name on the shirts of this talented young team of footballers in the area. “I am a big football fan myself and I know grassroots sport needs all of the support it can get.

“As a company, we work hard to make this a great place to work for our staff and to also give back to the local community because we recognise that businesses have a responsibility not only to make a profit, but also to be a cause for good in the area.

“We moved to Hinckley in 2017 and wanted to ensure that we are active in the region both in terms of employing people and also contributing the community – this is part of that.”

Corden, who – alongside Pete Kirby – has been managing the side for just over a year after completing an FA Level One coaching course, said: “The new kit looks great – the boys are absolutely thrilled with it.

“UK Flooring Direct is a great business and is already having a really positive impact on the local area – the company’s brand will now be seen by hundreds of parents and families associated with Croft Juniors and all of the teams we come up against across the area.

“We’ve got a few more matches to play this season and then a really exciting summer of festivals and tournaments. The boys have come on leaps and bounds over recent months and the new kit is a reward for all of their efforts.”
