Final few apartments for sale at Skipton’s cotton mill

More than 75% of the 39 loft-style apartments at The Cotton Mill in Skipton town centre are now sold or reserved. Work on the popular development completed last month and there are just a few one and two bedroom apartments available for sale. The Cotton Mill is the final part of the popular Belle Vue Mills development in the heart of Skipton, and the apartments are being sold by leading estate agent Dacre, Son & Hartley. Sales negotiator Joanne Baxter, from the firm’s Skipton office, says: “It’s been a fantastic success story, with buyers being attracted to the individuality of the apartments, the absolute attention to detail of the renovation and the high levels of specification throughout. “Now the whole development is complete, many residents have already moved in and there are just a handful of apartments for sale which range in price from £150,000 to £225,000. “The recently finished show home is proving popular with potential buyers as they are able to see first-hand the quality of what’s on offer, including the fully integrated contemporary fitted kitchens and bathrooms. “The communal areas have also drawn much praise, and the feature glazed entrance lobby with Yorkstone paving on the ground floor and bespoke artwork hanging in the hallways by Tom Duxbury, who grew up in the Yorkshire Dales, are also a real highlight. With a lift to all floors all of the apartments are easily accessible and the loft-style layout has really appealed to buyers of all ages.

“The remaining fourth floor penthouse apartments have roof terraces, and buyers will be able to enjoy the outstanding views over the canal and also across Skipton’s rooftops towards the Aire Valley. “The apartments have appealed to both local people, as well as those from across Yorkshire and beyond. We also have first-timer buyers, professionals and retired couples snapping up the new homes, which is a real demographic mix that is creating a fantastic community.” Award-winning development company Rushbond, is behind the renovation of the attractive historic building. The firm has successfully taken all of the traditional aspects of the building and blended them with a modern design that has really appealed to the market. Richard Baker, from Rushbond, says: “It’s a standout building that has been beautifully restored to provide individual homes in a great location. At the very heart of Skipton, buyers can benefit from all that the thriving market town has to offer, yet it’s an easy commute to Leeds via a direct train which take just 40 minutes.” The Cotton Mill is part of the Belle Vue Mills development which also includes Glista Mills, Eller House, and the recently completed McCarthy and Stone development, known as Mallory Court, which provide a mix of new and converted apartments.
