North East Welcomes Exciting New Networking Platform for Young Built Environment Professionals
2018 officially marks the formation of the North East branch of the Forum For Tomorrow. The forum is an arm of the Forum For the Built Environment and is aimed at providing networking opportunities for young professionals specifically. This allows young professionals from all aspects of the construction sector to build relationships and contacts, with the ability for relationships to grow as their careers develop. The forum will focus on overcoming the stigma and uncomfortable nature often associated with business networking and will aim to tackle this by offering enjoyable and sociable events, coupled with guidance, CPD and advice on how to network.
The venture is headed up by Senior Chartered Building Surveyor James Cullen of Building Surveyors Ltd and Joanna Pullan, Architect and Bid Manager of Sadler Brown Architecture. Both James and Joanna are acting as co-chairs to drive the forum forward.
“We are trying to promote networking with young professionals in the built environment sector to build future relationships and grow the construction economy for the future. This includes surveyors, Architects, engineers, contractors, clients, students, solicitors, etc.”
“There has been huge interest in the forum already and we hope the venture will be a great success” - James Cullen
The forum will launch with a speed networking event in Newcastle in May. This will provide attendees the opportunity to learn how to network in an informal environment.
’‘Everyone in attendance is still building their career, the event aims to be an ice breaker to develop confidence in networking and grow your contacts’’ -Joanna Pullan
The launch event is free to attend. Attendees will be provided with a welcome drink and networking tips. The event is open to all professionals in the built environment sector and is open to students and those looking to enter the industry.
