Dove Haigh Phillips appointed to market Hunslet Business Park

The leading Leeds-based property consultancy Dove Haigh Phillips (DHP) has been appointed to market the Old Mill Business Park in Hunslet, Leeds.

The 17-acre industrial and employment park is owned by Yorkshire-based Bayford & Co Developments.

Mike Haigh, partner with DHP, explained: “This is a prestigious appointment for us. We are delighted to have been appointed to advise Bayford on their strategy to improve the market profile of Old Mill Business Park, situated on the south bank of the River Aire.

“We will be working with their current tenants to improve the estate management and provide them with a vibrant business environment.

“Crucially, there is a development site capable of providing a unit of up to 28,000 sq ft which will be brought to the market offering a fantastic opportunity for a single occupier or a number of businesses, if the building is segregated into smaller units,” said Mr Haigh.

Old Mill Business Park has been in the Bayford & Co Developments portfolio since the 1990s.

Lucinda Jennings, property and development director with Bayford & Co, explained: “Until very recently our ownership of the site was by way of a long lease between ourselves and Canal River Trust (CRT).  In November 2017 Bayford acquired CRT’s freehold interest bringing the site’s ownership under one roof.  This exercise has prioritised Old Mill and brought about a strategic review of the estate.

“To assist with this process, we spoke with four-highly regarded consultants from which we felt that Dove Haigh Philips, as a niche consultancy, could provide the dedicated focus and advice to address the professional and management priorities as well as the strategic development of the remaining site.

“There is now a reinvigorated approach to Old Mill and working with DHP I am confident that the freeholder, long leaseholder and tenants will all benefit from this new working relationship,” she commented.

This development site is excellently located in one of the prime industrial areas of Leeds, and benefits from good access to both the City Centre and the M621/M1.
