L Marks will co-invest on Seedrs as part of the deal

Seedrs ramps up support for early-stage innovators with L Marks partnership

Equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs has entered into a partnership with investor L Marks.

Seedrs will support L Marks’ network of early-stage businesses with its equity crowdfunding services as part of the agreement, while L Marks will co-invest into companies on the Seedrs platform.

L Marks has invested in 30 startups and worked with more than 140 to date, including through its BMW Innovation Lab, EDF Energy Blue Lab and the Arsenal Innovation Lab.

The company provides startups with mentorship and commercial opportunities, working to enhance their ability to fundraise quickly and efficiently. This is the thinking behind the partnership with Seedrs, which matches early-stage businesses with major players in their respective markets.

Among them is insurtech startup Wrisk, which secured £638,741 on Seedrs shortly after winning L Marks’ BMW Innovation Lab last year.

Seedrs partnerships manager Julien Tubbs said: “We are delighted to be partnering with L Marks.

“As fellow specialists in early-stage investment, L Marks is a natural fit for us and we are very much looking forward to what the partnership will bring to early-stage businesses looking to raise capital via equity crowdfunding on Seedrs.”

Matteo Scarabelli, head of investment for L Marks, commented: “There’s a clear synergy between the kinds of support that we offer startups so it feels right for L Marks to be partnering with Seedrs.

“We’re really excited to work together and continue to promote investment in early-stage companies and I look forward to seeing how this collaboration will benefit our network.”
