DCS conference at Rudding Park enjoys record attendance
Boston Spa-based Deans Computer Services (DCS) enjoyed a record attendance at this year’s Spring Showcase, their biennial conference dedicated to the latest issues and innovations in IT. The success of the event has prompted DCS to make it an annual occasion with plans for an expanded version in 2019.
Held at Rudding Park near Harrogate, the 2018 Spring Showcase featured a range of keynote speeches from leading experts in cyber security, Digital Transformation, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), data capture and warehouse management, digital marketing, enterprise resource planning and tax relief for Research & Development. Top of the bill was a presentation from Google Digital Garage providing insight on how to gain a competitive advantage in the ever-evolving online landscape. The event also provided cyber security awareness training and featured a wide range of exhibitors offering specialist advice on document management, cloud, time and attendance systems, manufacturing software and custom solutions.
DCS managing director, Patrick Clayton, said:
“Every two years DCS and our trusted partners provide the Spring Showcase as an information-gathering and networking forum for SMEs to update, increase and broaden their knowledge of IT. We held our first Spring Showcase conference in 2012 and the event gets more popular each time we host it. We changed the format in 2018 with a dedicated theatre for keynote speeches in addition to the individual stand presentations which have always been part of previous Showcase events. That change proved to be very popular and the response has convinced us to hold the Spring Showcase every year.”
“The feedback from visitors is always extremely positive – many companies have told us that what they learned at the event will make a huge difference to the efficiency, health and wellbeing of their business. Reliable expertise in cyber security is absolutely vital to safeguard against the the growing threats that organisations of all sizes face and I know that many of our visitors have gained a great deal of peace of mind from the guidance they received at the 2018 Spring Showcase. The presentation from Google Digital Garage was also very informative and DCS are delighted to be partnering up with their digital skills training platform to assist customers in growing their business online.”
