Howzat! Leeds new home scheme sells out

A LEEDS property developer has been bowled over by the popularity of its inaugural £1m-plus collection of new homes.

All four homes at the Cricketers View development in Green Lane, Garforth – the first venture into residential property by family-run Volfortis – have now sold.

Overlooking Garforth Parish Church Cricket Club, the four family homes were all successfully marketed through the Roundhay office of Linley & Simpson after they failed to sell through the original agent.

In their semi-rural location, they bring an injection of much-needed new housing to Garforth, whose popularity as a place to live and work continues to grow.

Volfortis transformed a former dairy depot and yard – formerly dubbed an “eyesore” by locals - into a collection of energy-saving four bedroom homes.

It is now looking to build on this platform by exploring other potential residential development sites in Leeds.

Planners gave the go-ahead for the brownfield site’s redevelopment after hearing that the design and layout of the homes would “contribute in a positive vein to the visual amenity of it, and the character of the area as a whole”.

David Waddington, Director of Land and New Homes at Linley & Simpson said: “This has proven to be a sales success story for everyone involved in this scheme. We look forward to taking forward the partnership with Volfortis as it embarks on its next project.

“One of the hallmarks of this development’s appeal was the developer’s attention to detail. All the homes are energy efficient, compatible with the demands of modern living, and really provide flexible accommodation to suit most needs.”
