Barnsley payment systems firm acquired by software specialist Civica UK

Barnsley-based Nationwide Retail Systems Limited has been acquired by Civica UK Limited - a specialist in business-critical software applications - for an undisclosed sum.

hlw Keeble Hawson represented Nationwide Retail Systems, which specialises in cashless catering systems with more than 2,000 installations with local authority, school and college customers, in its sale to Civica UK, the wholly owned subsidiary of The Civica Group.

Civica’s payment software is used to process transactions for over 15 million people in the UK.

Nationwide Retail Systems adds technologies that Civica currently does not offer. Both companies have previously worked together on schools programmes for customers including Telford and Wrekin Council, Torfaen Council and Wrexham Council.
