Bruntwood deal heralds Manchester expansion for Yorkshire’s MRB Consulting Engineers
Yorkshire firm MRB Consulting Engineers has signed a deal for a new base in Manchester.
The company secured space at 111 Piccadilly, one of property firm Bruntwood’s developments in the city, on a 15-year lease.
MRB said the office will enable it to grow in Manchester and better serve its North West clients.
Headquartered in Wetherby, near Leeds, MRB provides sustainable design services for the property and construction industries.
MRB’s regional associate directors, Dan O’Connell and Matt Rangeley, will lead the Manchester team.
Plans are in place to recruit engineers across all grades in the coming months.
John McElwee, managing director of MRB Consulting Engineers, said: “111 Piccadilly is in a fantastic central location, within a hub of design and property consultancies so we felt it was an obvious choice for us when it came to choosing a base for our Manchester office.
“Having worked with Bruntwood for many years now, we were confident that its flexible and scalable approach to commercial lettings would enable our business to thrive in the North West.”
Craig Burrow, Bruntwood’s director of Leeds, commented: “We have been working with John and the team for many years on projects in Leeds and we are delighted to support their expansion in to Manchester.
“We are certain their experience, knowledge and approach will prove successful in the North West markets.”
The deal at 111 Piccadilly is the latest move in a long-standing relationship between MRB and Bruntwood.
The two businesses have worked together for more than five years on developments in the North, including Platform and 3 Sovereign Square in Leeds.
