Gino Joins the Crew at FSC Oceans
Ambitious, privately-owned London-headquartered freight forwarding business FSC Oceans has expanded the team further with the appointment of an Operations Assistant to support the Business Development and Sales team.
Paraguayan Gino Niella joins the Fulham-based business with experience working for UPS and Kuehne + Nagel in Paraguay, as well as a smaller freight forwarder called Q Cuarto. He moved to the UK last year in order to gain more commercial experience and broaden his skill set in the sector.
FSC Oceans recently expanded following its launch earlier this year, with the appointment of Business Development Manager Steve Boyson who has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry.
Gino’s appointment takes the team up to seven, headed up by Managing Director Shatha Aziz who moved to the UK from Iraq in 2016, bringing with her nearly two decades worth of experience providing multinational businesses with bespoke logistics solutions. She’d already consulted her network in the UK and decided there was a gap in the market for a new start-up, so set about recruiting her team to launch FSC Oceans.
Gino said: “I’m thrilled to have been offered a position at FSC Oceans and very eager to learn from the rest of the team who all have so much knowledge and experience to share with me. I’ve worked in operations for two years and sales for a year, so now I’m keen to develop my commercial skill set and start getting more ‘hands on’ dealing with clients.
“I look forward to growing into my new role and developing professionally at the company under the guidance of an experienced team.”
FSC Oceans is a start-up with bold aspirations. Shatha’s goal is for the business to hit the £10m turnover milestone within just a few years. To achieve this, Commercial Director Alan Hewitt, Operations Manager Steve Tumber, General Manager Salem Haifi and Account Supervisor Soraya Benouda, overseen by Shatha, are creating and implementing tailored, streamlined logistics solutions that deliver reliability and efficiency into their customers’ supply chains.
Commercial Director Alan Hewitt, who has more than 28 years’ experience in international logistics, having previously worked for both Kuehne + Nagel and RH Freight, said: “What stood out about Gino was his tenacity – he picked the phone up as soon as he’d seen the job specification and asked to come in and see us in person. That really made him stand out.
“Once we met him we saw talent and potential immediately. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese as well as English, which complements our already diverse cultural mix as a team, and for his age of 22 he has a solid background in freight forwarding already. We look forward to seeing what Gino’s achieves with us over the coming months.” FSC Oceans offers a broad spectrum of services from traditional freight forwarding to supply chain consultation.
