North East cosmetics business take home gold at prestigious award ceremony
Gateshead based cosmetics and semi-permanent makeup business, Lasting Enhancements, took home the gold at a recent Scalp Micropigmentation awards ceremony, staving off fierce competition from across the globe.
Danielle Cavanagh fought off 9 other candidates from all over the world to win the Best New Technician in Scalp Micropigmentation award at Scalp Guru’s Meeting Of Minds 2018 award ceremony that took place Manchester on May 11th 2018.
Award winner, Danielle, said: “It’s a huge honour to win this award and it’s great to see my hard work has paid off! It makes me feel incredibly proud to be able to put the North East on the map when it comes to scalp micropigmentation, as we’ve seen first hand the positive effect it can have on people’s lives. We’re so lucky that we can put our skills to good use and help the people of the North East feel more confident and enjoy a better quality of life.”
Mother and daughter duo, Linda McFarlane and Danielle Cavanagh, are the brains behind Lasting Enhancements, founded by Linda in 1999. Danielle joined the family business in 2012, where the business has grown from strength to strength over recent years. They offer a range of semi-permanent makeup treatments such as eyebrows, lip blush and eyeliner, helping people from across the North East to feel more confident in their own skin. The Gateshead cosmetics business also offer medical tattooing to help clients with scar relaxation, cleft lip, and areola tattooing for breast cancer survivors.
Scalp micropigmentation, the treatment for which the award was won, is a service that the family business also offers to both men and women who suffer from illnesses such as alopecia, or general balding, receding hairline, and more. The technique requires the practitioner to apply pigment to the scalp using the finest of needles to create a natural illusion of hair follicles. This results in outstanding, natural-looking results to the scalp and / or hairline which are capable of transforming the quality of life for so many clients, giving them a much higher level of self confidence in their day to day lives.
Brent Henderson, a scalp micropigmentation client of Lasting Enhancements, said: “I’ve suffered from male pattern baldness since the young age of 20 and I thought my only choice was to spend thousands of pounds on a hair transplant, until I discovered Lasting Enhancements. In my first session, Danielle immediately put me at ease and I could see an instant difference from the completely pain-free treatment. Several sessions later, I now have a natural-looking hairline and my confidence has been transformed!”.
