PERSIMMON HOMES TO START BUILDING ON FORMER AIRFIELD
An Oxfordshire housebuilder has welcomed the decision by the Vale of White Horse District Council to approve planning permission for its first phase of homes at the former RAF Grove Airfield.
Persimmon Homes Wessex has begun work on the road infrastructure which will provide access to the development’s first 191 homes.
Wellington Gate, as the development will be known, is the first phase of the Grove Airfield development, which will see up to 2,500 homes being built over the coming years.
Richard Briggs, managing director at Persimmon Homes Wessex, said: “We are delighted to begin the transformation of the former airfield.
“This is a major development which will also provide substantial community benefits in education, highway and transportation improvements, as well as create allotments, a community sports facility, parks and extensive play areas.
“It’s not just about building homes but creating an entire new community, which ultimately will have a positive impact on the local economy.”
The first phase of homes will feature a range of one through to four-bedroom homes in a range of stylish house designs to meet all budgets and lifestyles.
Buyers looking to move into their dream home will also be able to access the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme as well as Persimmon Homes’ Part Exchange and Home Change packages.
“We are working towards our marketing team being on site at the end of May. We are encouraging customers to register their interest so that we can keep them up-to-date on the sites developments,” concluded Richard.
Customers can register their interest by visiting www.persimonhomes.com.
