ION appoints new project manager as it launches its second UK office in the Capital

NEWCASTLE software solutions firm has boosted its growth by recruiting an industry heavyweight to the team, ahead of its new office opening in the Capital.

The business has recently won projects across the UK and is opening an additional office on ‘Tech Roundabout’ in Old Street, London to accommodate its rapid growth.

Since celebrating its successful first financial year, ION has superseded its target figures and expanded the team from 15 with its latest recruit, project manager Rachael Kuronboev.

With a wealth of experience working with some of the biggest communications and branding agencies in the world, 33-year-old Rachel from Cramlington, has joined the team at its head office in Gosforth to work on the increased digital projects managing clients’ Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Having previously worked in Malaysia for Sachi and Sachi and Tune Talk as well as at Newcastle creative agencies Robson Brown and Gardiner Richardson, Rachel was keen to continue her career within the tech industry and will help oversee the UK delivery.

She said: “It is a very exciting time at the moment for ION so I am delighted to get on board for this new phase of the company’s development.

“I was looking for something a little different from previous positions utilising my skills working with digital projects and to take ownership of them for clients on a larger scale. This has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge further within a fast growing industry.

“My role is to oversee CRM delivery through to completion, helping clients to connect to their customers using the latest cloud and data technologies and help them grow their business.”

Managing director Rob Mathieson stated that the opening of the London office and ION’s team expansion was growing at a ‘far more rapid rate than was initially anticipated.’

“CRM is at the forefront for businesses looking to aggressively grow and we’ve found companies are switching to more effective CRMs with a higher level of adoption,” he said.

“At this stage, it made sense to open the London office early and lays a strong foundation for our continued national and European expansion. Although it is a very busy time for us, we are excited for the future.”

ION is continuing its recruitment drive looking to employ another five people by the end of summer.
