DE Pharmaceuticals bolsters growth with multiple new appointments

One of the UK’s largest pharmaceutical wholesalers has expanded its team with the help of Yorkshire recruitment agency, Glu Recruit. Over the past 12 months, DE Pharmaceuticals, part of the Converse Pharma Group, has welcomed fifteen new employees into its 11 UK distribution locations to bolster the team following rapid growth and a £35m turnover increase. The new appointments come after the firm’s client base increased by 15% in 2017, and follows massive growth for the pharmaceutical wholesaler between 2013- 2018 in which it was the subject of a successful management buyout by Converse Pharma Group. Over this five year period, the group has increased staffing levels over 350% and grew its turnover by 71%, achieving a £35m increase from 2016 to 2017 alone. The business appointed South Yorkshire based Glu Recruit in 2017 to bolster its team in the wake of this growth. Tara Matthewman, Group HR Manager at Converse Pharma Group said: “DE Pharmaceuticals has enjoyed unprecedented growth over the past five years; including an increase in turnover, staffing levels and customer base. In order to continue with this upward trajectory we need the best team possible to support us. “Glu has been fundamental to ensuring that we found the right people to help us take the business forward, and we really appreciated their proactive, personable approach that has left us confident that we now have the right candidates for each role to ultimately help us achieve our goals. “We are delighted to welcome our new recruits on board, and look forward to more success in the future.” Rob Shaw, managing Director at Glu Recruit said: “Finding the right candidates to help a business grow is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. “DE Pharmaceuticals has experienced huge success over recent years, and so the firm needed to bolster its team in order to deal with increased demand and maintain levels of service. “We’re delighted to have been able to support them, and we’re looking forward to seeing what DE Pharmaceuticals will achieve over the next 12 months.” Headquartered in Prudhoe near Newcastle, DE Pharmaceuticals is one of the UK’s largest national pharmaceutical wholesalers, supporting independent community pharmacies across the UK as a major supplier of pharmaceuticals products.
