Eddisons team raises over £4,000 for children’s charity with Three Peaks challenge

A ten-strong team from property consultancy Eddisons, whose head office is in Leeds, has raised £4,000 for the Children with Cancer UK charity after completing the 24.5-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks in less than 12 hours.

Taking on the summits of three of the Yorkshire Dales’ highest hills, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, with a gruelling 5,200 ft of climbing, the intrepid team of building surveyors at Eddisons had trained in preparation for the walk.

“Only one of us had ever done the Three Peaks before and even though we are all in reasonably good shape we knew it wouldn’t be a good idea to tackle such a daunting challenge without doing some groundwork,” said Ian Harrington who heads the building and project consultancy department.

“We climbed Whernside together as our training expedition but tackling all three peaks was still a strenuous hike and by the time we got to the last summit of Ingleborough we were pretty tired and had a few blisters between us.

“We are incredibly proud though to have raised £4,000 for Children with Cancer UK, which does such amazing work to fund research, and help families affected by childhood cancer. That has made it all worth it. We are still totting up the total we have raised and it’s not too late for people to add a donation. “
