Newcastle bar and restaurant supplier aiming for record £4m turnover win

A supplier of premium crockery, cookware and glassware for the bar and restaurant industry is on course for a record year.

London Bar and Kitchen - based at Queen Street, Newcastle - works with most of the region’s biggest leisure operators, along with providing goods for national chains including Revolution Bars PLC.

The company - which is part of the family-owned IG Group - was acquired four years ago and is now headed up by Daniel Hoey, who is confident that London Bar and Kitchen will be hitting a £4m turnover in the near future.

“We acquired the company four years ago,” said Daniel, who is the third generation of the Hoey family to work in the trade: “And we have steadily grown from an organisation with a turnover of a few hundred thousand pounds to one which has not only become a major supplier but which is also massively grown its turnover.”

The company also has a London base, supplying the industry in the south of the country and there are plans for further growth.

Daniel puts the success down to the quality and variety of the goods that London Bar and Kitchen are able to source and their competitive pricing.

He added: “We are very aware of current trends and what our clients are likely to be asking about so we can anticipate and source stock.

“We do extensive research about the product ranges and the fact that we have such a big showroom means our clients can actually come and see what is on offer.”

The IG Group includes Peterlee-based Innerglass Ltd which has been in operation for more than 40 years, selling catering supplies to some of the biggest names in the hospitality and leisure industry.
