Treske makes its mark - again
Treske, the independent Thirsk-based bespoke furniture manufacturer, has been re-awarded the prestigious Manufacturing Guild Mark (MGM).
This Guild Mark is available only to the best furniture and furnishing manufacturers in the UK, and demonstrates excellence in furniture manufacturing. It was first awarded to Treske by the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers four years ago.
Treske one of only 16 holders of the MGM in the UK.
The Manufacturing Guild Mark has been the mark of excellence, distinguishing Britain’s top furnishing manufacturers, since 1993. The Mark is awarded to a company that demonstrates high standards across all aspects of the business, including manufacturing, design, product quality, marketing, finance, commitment to training employment conditions and sustainability
The MGM is awarded to companies who meet the highest standards of manufacturing, design, product quality, marketing, finance, commitment to training, employment conditions and sustainability.
Treske was successfully assessed against the rigorous criteria required for the MGM and independently audited on behalf of the Furniture Makers Company.
The award was officially presented to Justin Bartlett, the owner and managing director of Treske, by Manufacturing Guild Mark chairman Paul von der Heyde.
Mr Bartlett said: “This is a tremendous honour for us. It is a ringing endorsement, not only of the quality of the furniture which we manufacture on our premises, but also of our commitment to our staff. We recognise that the two go hand in hand”.
“This recognition by our peers in the furniture-making world gives us a great boost as we strive to maintain our reputation as one of the leading independent furniture manufacturers in the country.”
Mr Bartlett explained: “These are exciting times for Treske, reflecting the growing demand for our products from across the United Kingdom and our confidence in the future, which is fuelled by the improving economic climate and the skills and commitment of our staff.”
“Underpinning this optimism is Treske’s unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. Our new kitchen showrooms have created a much better experience for customers when they visit the company’s headquarters in Station Road, overlooking Thirsk Station.
“To be a Manufacturing Guild Mark holder is to represent the absolute best in UK British furnishing manufacturing. We are very proud indeed of this award,” he added.
Retailers, specifiers, distributors and customers sourcing and buying furniture from a Manufacturing Guild Mark holder can rest easy knowing that the company has achieved exemplary standards.
Unlike other Guild Marks, the Manufacturing Guild Mark is awarded to the company and not a specific product or product range. It is also only open to those who manufacture most of their products in the UK – whether they make upholstered or cabinet furniture, kitchens or office furniture, contemporary or traditional styles.
Manufacturing Guild Mark holders may also be companies producing for the mass market or High Street, just as much as it might go to high end producers. Excellence doesn’t have to mean only the most exclusive or expensive products.
