Growing Auger expands IT team

Market-leading specialist for the insurance industry, Auger, has employed two new IT developers as the company continues to expand its technology services.

Luke Varley, junior developer, and Jake Walker, apprentice developer, join the Auger team in Wallasey, Wirral, to focus on a range of internal and external projects. These will include meeting the demands of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Auger currently operates its own bespoke IT software, Clarity Suite, which helps supply customers with information and transparency, helps the insurer with processes and speeds up the insurance process for all involved. The suite includes the Atom software used by Auger’s engineers to communicate with their office-based counterparts.

Jake is the first apprentice to be appointed under the Auger Academy, established last year to improve the skills of its workforce and formalise its training processes.

Neil Wilks, head of technology and finance at Auger, said: “Luke and Jake join Auger at an exciting time as we continue to expand. Their knowledge and skills will allow us to continue developing market leading software technology to benefit our clients, customers and workforce.

“At Auger we recognise the significant benefits that emerging tech can bring to our business and by adopting machine learning and AI to complement our class-leading customer service, we can stay ahead of the curve.”

Clarity Suite has recently been shortlisted for a number of awards including the Wireless Wizard Award – the best business project dependent on mobile technology as part of the InsurTech Awards 2017.

Auger has appointed more than 30 new employees, including both office and site-based staff over the past 12 months as part of its expansion, and continues to grow its team with new positions being announced throughout 2018.
