Illuminating business link for Scotts of Thrapston

A Northamptonshire-based summerhouse manufacturer has joined forces with a solar technology company to give their garden buildings an added dimension. Scotts of Thrapston, established in 1920, is now working with Solar Technology International to provide a lighting system for their outdoor living spaces. Customers will be offered a package that provides a neat system of producing illumination. The SolarMate Vintage collection takes only minutes to install and can provide mains-quality lighting for up to seven hours per night. A premium, high-efficiency solar panel is fitted neatly on the rear wall of the summerhouse while the lithium battery hub is hidden under the seating. The package will also include a table and standard lamp complete with warm tone, vintage bulbs. Kathryn Morris, spokeswoman for Scotts of Thrapston, which manufactures, supplies and installs timber summerhouses and garden buildings, said: “We are delighted to have forged such a link with Solar Technology International as we believe this product will appeal to our customers. “Whilst summerhouses are traditionally associated with the hotter months, hence their name, we are keen to show that these garden buildings are truly functional throughout the year. “Having an effective and efficient lighting system opens up extensive usage, not only on a balmy summer’s evening, but throughout the spring, autumn and winter months. Plus, solar lighting saves the hassle and expense of supplying mains electrics to the bottom of the garden and is great for properties where an electric supply outside is not an option.” Adrian Williams, Managing Director of Solar Technology International said: “In the past, off-grid lighting systems tended to produce quite a harsh, cold illumination which, although practical, did not give the lighting the quality and ambiance we all like to enjoy in our homes. Our Vintage Collection gives the warm tones but without any loss of brightness, which promotes relaxation and comfort so that people can enjoy their summerhouse well into the evening. “Plus, the mighty solarhub can also power a host of other 12volt electrical devices, including TVs, radios, laptops and fans so that the summerhouse really does become an extension of the home, day and night.” The kit includes: 10w Solar panel with 2.5m connection cable; solar panel wall bracket; 10Ah solarhub; table lamp and 80lm vintage bulb with 5m cable and switch; floor lamp and 350lm vintage bulb with 5m cable and switch. New or existing summerhouse customers can purchase the SolarMate package direct from Scotts or via their agents around the UK. Tel: 01832 732366.
