Peel creates 25 jobs at Port of Liverpool
Peel Ports has taken on 25 full-time staff in its latest recruitment drive at the Port of Liverpool.
Of the new recruits, 10 started at the port last month and additional groups are due to start in the coming weeks.
According to Peel, all were hired on a permanent basis, taking up positions at both the Liverpool2 and Royal Seaforth container terminals.
The newcomers will initially be trained as a port operatives but have the opportunity to progress into more specialised roles at the port, including gantry crane operators and tug drivers.
Jouke Schaap, port director for Peel Ports Group, said: “We’re pleased to be creating a further 25 full-time jobs at the Port of Liverpool, underlining our role as a major employer in the city and a significant contributor to the local economy.
“We’ve invested heavily in our estate, infrastructure and staff in recent years as we cement Liverpool’s position as one of the UK’s most important ports for global trade and business growth.”
