Canalside pub in Manchester to go under the hammer
A former canalside pub in Manchester is up for auction next month.
The property, previously home to the Navigation Inn, will have a guide price of between £150k and £200k when it goes under the hammer.
The building overlooks Rochdale Canal from 1 Bourdon Street in Miles Platting, near New Islington.
The ground floor, which housed the pub space, has been cleared by the site’s current vendors. The upper level has three bedrooms.
Planning permission is in place to convert the property into four apartments.
Andy Thompson, senior valuer at SDL Auctions North West, commented: “We’re already seeing a lot of interest in what was the Navigation Inn, but we’ve decided not to consider pre-auction offers for this lot as we predict it is likely to draw a lot of competitive bidding on the day.”
The pub could make an “excellent investment for a serious developer”, he said.
SDL Auctions’ next North West event will take place on July 23.
