Global engineering firm signs for Doncaster warehouse in ‘one of the biggest lettings in the region this year’
Commercial Property Partners (CPP) has facilitated the letting of a 310,000 sq ft industrial warehouse Doncaster South to Daher, the global specialist in engineering and aircraft technology.
An international aircraft and service maker since 1863, Daher offers a wide range of industrial products and services to aerospace and advanced technologies Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) and their supply chain.
This announcement follows news that fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing will now occupy an industrial warehouse, marketed by CPP as the ‘largest empty warehouse in the UK’.
PrettyLittleThing will occupy Logicor’s newly refurbished 615,000 sq ft industrial warehouse on Shepcote Lane in Tinsley.
The retailer’s agreement with third party logistics provider Clipper will see the creation of over 1,200 jobs in the region by 2019. The new contract will commence in July 2018.
Toby Vernon, co-founding Partner at CPP’s Yorkshire office, commented: “The Yorkshire region remains a major centre for logistics and manufacturing businesses, providing easy reach of key transport infrastructure and a plentiful and skilled workforce.
“It is no surprise therefore that logistics take-up across the region has been very strong for the year to date, significantly outperforming previous years.
Toby added: “Indeed, for buildings in excess of 100,000 sq ft, take-up already stands at over 2,100,000 sq ft across six separate buildings giving an average building size of 350,000 sq ft.
“We are proud to have secured the two of the biggest lettings in the region this year, reflecting the strength of the market for good quality, well located warehouse and industrial buildings within the region.”
