40 jobs created as Bar Soba launches on Greek Street
Bar Soba is moving from Merrion Street to join the lineup on Greek Street in Leeds city centre, creating 40 new jobs.
The new venue will located in what was formerly known as Bem Brasil, which is currently undergoing a £500k renovation.
The transformation will see the bar decked out in Bar Soba’s signature urban luxe decor, which will include Geisha-style graffiti painted by local artists.
Downstairs will feature an 11-metre long cocktail bar which will serve up cocktails along with Asian and continental beers.
The ground floor will also house an integrated DJ booth with a Void Acoustics sound-system, which will host DJ’s from Leeds, Europe and beyond.
The first floor will be home to a 60-cover restaurant with flexible seating to accommodate both intimate and open dining experiences.
The new food menu blends cuisine from the streets of Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, China and Vietnam. Dirty Katsu Fries with buttermilk chicken, Sriracha and mango mayo, and the Coconut Onion Rings with chilli-lime mayo are a selection of the new side options.
The small plates section will feature the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls as well as new additions; Korean Popcorn Chicken and Bang Bang Belly Ribs.
Gillian Soutar, Group Marketing Manager, said: “We had an amazing three years on Merrion Street and our Greek Street venue will see us REMIX Bar Soba Leeds to bring our guests an even better drinking, dining and dancing experience”.
Bar Soba will mark its debut in July with a launch party.
