Macclesfield College Open Day Set to Help Students Know the Score on Courses and Careers
With exam season now coming to an end and the new school year imminent, Macclesfield College is set to give school, sixth form leavers and adults a helping hand in making key career decisions about their next steps with an Open Day held on campus on Saturday 23rd June 10am – 1pm.
The Open Day will be an ideal opportunity for potential students to tour the Macclesfield College facilities, whether leaving school, looking for an apprenticeship or looking to study for a degree without the expense of costly university fees.
The college offers a wide range of courses, including full-time level 1, 2 and 3 courses for school leavers and a variety of full-time and part-time courses for students of different entries, from pre-entry level to level 4 high education options.
The Open Day will also present the college’s brand-new part time adult courses, which includes subjects such as hair and beauty, languages, counselling, teaching, business, human resources, bricklaying, automotive, IT, accounting, health and social care and more. These courses are ideal for those who would like to take their first steps towards their career journey, change careers, get a promotion, or simply learn new skills.
During the Open Day the college will also hold a job fair on behalf of National League Champions and newly promoted Macclesfield Town FC. Following their successful promotion to EFL League 2 after an incredible season, the club are looking to expand their workforce and have a range of match day roles available, including kiosk staff, bar & hospitality, match day operations and stadium security, all of which can be done in spare time and around college studies. The fair will also present the opportunity to have a picture with the silverware brought home by the boys, the National League Cup!
A spokesperson from Macclesfield Town FC said: ““We’re so pleased to be a part of the Open Day at Macclesfield College. We’re hoping to form close links with the college over the next few years and this jobs fair will hopefully be the start of an exciting partnership.”
Vice Principal for Curriculum and Quality, Andrea Murphy comments: “The Open Day will allow potential students to speak to teachers from a wide range of subject areas and have a look at our fantastic campus. Whether they are a school-leaver, apprentice, adult learner or simply looking to add to their skill range, we have something for everyone.
“It’s often difficult for people to decide which path to take because there are so many options. This Open Day will allow potential students to explore not only our new subject offering, but all options at the college, from apprenticeships and work-based learning to vocational courses to degree level qualifications.
“The focus of this Open Day is to help people choose the best route and most exciting field of study for them. We want to make sure each student and potential student makes the right decision for them, ensuring their success once they enter the working world.”
