NORTH EAST’S LEADING IMMERSIVE SOLUTIONS COMPANY TO HEADLINE GREAT EXHIBITION OF THE NORTH

The North East’s leading provider of immersive solutions will headline the region’s largest celebration to date of the North of England’s pioneering spirit.

The country’s largest event of 2018 – The Great Exhibition of the North - will feature a programme of exhibits, live performances, displays of innovation, new artworks and experiences packed into 80 days and spread across three hubs in the city of Newcastle.

And leading digital visualisation provider – Teesside based Animmersion - will be showcasing these experiences through the UK’s first and the company’s unique revolutionary mixed-reality display, DeepFrame One.

Set to change the way viewers see things, the DeepFrame One, which is invented by the Danish company Realfiction, merges the real and virtual world allowing viewers to experience lifelike visuals never before seen without the use of traditional and immersive VR eyewear.

With a window like display, the DeepFrame One is the largest mixed-reality display of its kind and will be featured in The Great Exhibition of the North for nine weeks across some of the exhibition’s key venues. These include:

• 24th June 8th July - Eldon Square for two weeks showcasing how car showrooms could look int the future together with a Lego display that will include some of the most breath-taking visuals

• 9th July 16th August - The Great North Museum for a further six weeks where an incredible raptor experience will take viewers into the prehistoric world. Together with this, Tees Valley Combined Authority have commissioned one of the North of England’s leading 2D animation companies, Gateshead based Arcus Studios, to produce animated vignettes into the North East’s pre-history, including the Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras

• 18th August 9th September - The Sage Gateshead where the public will be invited to create their own immersive musical experience encompassing some of the North Easts best-known landmarks.

Speaking about the use of the technology across The Great Exhibition of the North’s key venues, Dominic Lusardi, Managing Director at Animmersion said: “This is without doubt the most high-profile and visually stimulating event that the region has seen for some time and we are absolutely delighted to have been asked to be an integral part of this through the use of the DeepFrame One.

Firms such as Animmersion will help keep us at the forefront of the digital revolution.”

Animmersion is the first immersive solutions provider in the UK to deliver the DeepFrame One. Producing visualisations of any size, depth and distance, the technology allows viewers to experience breath-taking images and animations as a virtual layer on top of the real world. The DeepFrame One has been developed and manufactured by Denmark based Realfiction.
