Ready for Brexit Launches to Support UK SMEs

Two years on from the EU Referendum, a group of independent business experts have launched Ready for Brexit™, a comprehensive website platform designed to support UK businesses in preparation for Brexit - in whatever form it takes.

Across the UK, it is clear that Brexit will create challenges and opportunities for SMEs as well as larger organisations. According to the Federation of Small Businesses, SMEs employ 16.1 million people and have a combined turnover of £1.9 trillion, 51% of all private sector turnover in the UK. They are therefore critical to Brexit success.

With only nine months to go until 29 March 2019 – the date the UK could potentially leave the EU - it is therefore critical that businesses proactively plan to ensure success post-Brexit. Yet many SMEs are uncertain as to how they should start to prepare for it.

The team behind Ready for Brexit includes Chairman, Paul Hodges and CEO, David Hughes, who each have over 30 years’ experience in executive roles with major global importers and exporters. The Ready for Brexit platform provides a regularly-updated BrexList™ checklist of key issues that business owners can use to understand the potential impact of Brexit on their business.

‘Ready for Brexit provides SMEs with a Directory of continually updated, objective information on everything they need to know about exporting from, and importing to, the UK after Brexit. It also helps them to understand Brexit’s likely impact on critical areas such as employment, legal, financial, regulatory and the supply chain,’ explains Paul Hodges, chairman at Ready for Brexit.

The site features interviews with business leaders, comment and advice articles from those working towards a smooth Brexit and regular news stories and updates. The Ready for Brexit community also provides an interactive platform where business owners and entrepreneurs can share their concerns, knowledge and ideas on discussion forums covering key areas for Brexit preparation.
