Teesside training firm to unlock growth with recruitment drive and £1m investment

Electrical safety training company The Faraday Centre is looking to double the size of its business with a recruitment drive and seven-figure investment.

The firm has ploughed over £1m into industrial electrical switchgear and installing specialist high- and low-voltage electrical equipment for its safety courses.

Since moving to the South Annexe Building on the Wilton Centre’s 75-acre business and science park campus in Redcar last year, the company has grown its lecturing staff count by over 50% and introduced new specialist courses for the windfarm and hybrid power systems markets.

The Faraday Centre now expects to double its annual training provision to 3,500 candidates over the coming years. The aim is to draw candidates not just from Teesside and the North East, but from around the world.

Suhail Mitoubsi, general manager of The Faraday Centre, said: “We’ve now got the space to accommodate the largest range of high voltage switchgear in any UK training centre, specialist low voltage training areas, 13 dedicated classrooms, a purpose-built seminar room, and three canteen areas, one of which is in the light, bright atrium.”

The Faraday Centre plans to invest further in its marine and offshore training area in the next six months.
