Fernwood Transport drives investment
Nottingham-based haulage firm, Fernwood Transport has invested in 12 new Renault trucks, in order to meet growing customer demand, whilst at the same time operating the most environmentally friendly engines available in the current market.
With a head office in Watnall, Fernwood Transport currently employs 25 staff and has been providing bulk road haulage services nationally to power stations and blue-chip companies for over 35 years.
However, in order to provide an excellent customer service and meet growing customer requirements in terms of accurate real-time vehicle positioning and tracking information using the newest automotive technology available, along with minimum vehicle emissions, Fernwood has upgraded its fleet of Renault trucks.
This large investment will ensure that Fernwood Transport is able to improve its service to customers whilst reducing downtime.
Having used and relied on Renault Trucks for the last 8 years, Fernwood Transport purchased the new trucks from East Midlands dealer RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV), which also has a head office based in Nottingham.
Rick Fowle, Director at Fernwood Transport said: “We are always keen to invest in new equipment to remain ahead with the latest technology, in particular with regard to vehicle emissions and changing requirements of our customers. With a growing need to modernise our fleet, we road-tested the Renault Trucks and found them to be decent, reliable vehicles.
“RHCV were excellent and supportive from start to finish, when it was time for us to upgrade. Their customer service is second to none and as the Directors of RHCV have previously owned a transport company and operated their own fleet of vehicles, they understand the importance for us to keep our vehicles on the road so our customers continue with an uninterrupted service.”
Paul Pearson, Commercial Director at RHCV added: “This was the third time that Fernwood Transport had chosen to purchase with RHCV and we are delighted to have been an important part of their continued success. We look forward to working with them in the future.”
Established 40 years ago, RHCV has its head office in Nottingham and a further three sites in Leicester, Alfreton and Northampton – which was acquired earlier this year. The company employs 90 staff and sell, leases, services and repairs heavy (HGV) and light commercial (LCV) vehicles across the East Midlands.
